INsPiReD • Part 3 Sitting in church was making me feel pretty good. The talk brought up all sorts of feelings within me about acceptance, compassion and especially connection. As soon as I had walked in the doors I felt a connection. Every person I came into contact with either smiled widely at me, or said “hello” or “welcome”.
I could feel this was a loving community. The talk by the minister was titled “Renewing Our Commitments”. Which at first I thought might be guilt inducing, but it was amazing and as far from guilt as you could get. It was about renewing our commitments to being whole and remembering that we are part of something much bigger. It was about seeing beyond the human experience and allowing our individual divinity to flourish. Very inspiring stuff.
Yet, it was also about having the best human experience possible, filled with self acceptance, joy and LOVE. Seeing yourself as that love. Treating yourself with respect and reverence. Holding on to love as the bigger picture. Love that is more. The love that connects everything. Big Love.
Big LOVE!
Big Love. I thought about it for a minute. My mind wandered. I was thinking about my writing and how I had started signing off on my blog using the term “Big Love”. I knew why. It was how I was feeling at this moment in church. Part of something vast yet intimate, uniquely individual and also totally universal, something intangible although I could feel it on a wholly level. The thread that connects everyone and everything. That’s what Big Love is to me.
Today, sitting in this wonderful place, feeling a heart felt connection with a church full of complete strangers, I knew Big Love. I also knew the importance of being reminded of it. So happy I came.
